Johannes Itten
1888 -- 1967
Itten was a Swiss painter and teacher at the Bauhaus in Weimar. He developed a colour theory and was one of the best-known followers of Mazdaznan, a mixed doctrine that combined Christian with Tantric and Theosophical ideas, vegetarian rules of life, but also racist prejudices to form an unholy philosophy. Itten, who called himself the "Master of Colour Art", did not hesitate to make his strange world view the main component of his teaching.
